Description
Purpose of the position
We are seeking an experienced B2B Community Management professional. The Community Manager will have the responsibility of liaising with, enabling and facilitating the overall directions of a major Hi-tech/Telecoms Partner community as guided by the company and acting closely with the member council. The Community Manager would also be responsible for generating a webinar and whitepaper program and would be the overall content guru and expert in the Community. Excellent written and oral skills are essential and a proven background in professional business editing would be an asset. The Community Manager will also be an effective public speaker as well as an excellent communicator and evangelist for the Community.
You will be responsible for the overall direction of the community and will be targeted to deliver measureable and effective content, dialogue and to enable collaboration among Community members. This is a client facing position and may involve extensive travel within the United States. The successful candidate must understand new media and must be able to sell and communicate at the highest level. They will be tasked with increasing the quality and effectiveness of the work we are undertaking for the community and increasing the effectiveness of the community both for the members and the sponsors.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Creating value through both on and off-line initiatives for community members
- Managing the relationship with a portfolio of key community sponsors
- Controlling and editing the overall content development for the community
- Creating effective marketing initiatives to attract new community members
- Ensuring these activities are effectively executed
- Ensuring all activities meet the pre-agreed profit criteria
- Ensuring all other agreed community KPI’s and measurements are met
- Generating marketing activities that increase our ability to recruit new community members
- Ensuring all budgets and forecasts are met
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in a B2B communications role
- Proven knowledge and experience of the HiTech Channels environment
- A proven capability to generate high quality content
- Experience in running B2B communities
- Proven ability to create innovative and effective marketing initiatives
- Demonstrable understanding of the channels in the technology industry
- Exceptional ability to communicate at the highest level
- Proven ability to create ‘C’ level relationships
- Must be able to demonstrate previous experience in driving successful and profitable communities
